Who Am I? What is my Soul?
What do men and women of all races and religions have in common? Is there some knowledge which could bring harmony, tolerance and understanding? Could we see that the differences in mankind are as necessary for the health of the planet as the variety in nature? His Holiness Shantanand Saraswati, Shankaracharya of North India, answered such questions put to him by Francis Roles, and in these extracts from their dialogues the subject of the Soul is discussed in a very practical and topical manner.
Available from the Society at £4.00.
Philip Jacobs offers a simple and practical introduction to the non-dual Advaita teaching. Each section unfolds a different aspect of this perennial philosophy, showing how Oneness can be observed and appreciated in our daily lives. At last we arrive at the place we never left; our own true nature.
In addition to simple diagrams each section is followed by a selection of wonderful quotations that can be dipped into for inspiration and refreshment. These include the words of The Shankaracharya, Francis Roles, P.D.Ouspensky, Rumi, Huang Po, Ken Wilber, Eckhart Tolle, Bede Griffiths, Ramana Maharshi and Robert Bly.
Available from the Society at £10.00.
Good Company
“Unless one has rest in love and happiness one cannot survive, just as the body cannot survive without sleep. Meditation is to provide rest. To take people to bliss is simply to give them rest – rest with the Self – so that they may have new and fresh mornings of life”
The aim of this anthology – drawn from audiences with His Holiness Shantanand Saraswati, Shankarcharya of Jyotir Math – is to provide refreshment, clarity of heart and mind, and the recollection of important ideas.
Published by Chrysalis Vega and available from booksellers at £6.99.
The Man Who Wanted to Meet God
Stories and commentaries taken from talks by His Holiness Shantanand Saraswati.
“These stories – simple, lucid, and enlivening – are like the purest water, drawn from the inexhaustible spring of Vedic wisdom, of which His Holiness is one of the very few authorised custodians. The fruit of this wisdom is nothing less than God – realization – a life of unlimited love and happiness beyond all description” - Alistair Shearer
Published by Chrysalis Vega at £5.00.

A Lasting Freedom
Modern languages often lack words to describe psychological and spiritual experience. In contrast, some ancient languages, like Sanskrit, are consciously framed to express the inner as well as the outer life, with words to bring out finer shades of meaning.
‘Lasting Freedom’ is based on two talks given by Dr Francis Roles in Steinway Hall, New York.
Published by the Society at £5.00.
